Natural calfskin requires attention and care with the help of special creams and impregnations, but the time spent on the hassle will pay off with a vengeance, because well-groomed shoes will last two or even three terms.

Synthetic materials that emit the properties of natural ones are a complex topic that has both adherents and ardent opponents, but it is impossible not to discuss it. The development of synthetic leather with natural properties (not to be confused with the banal leatherette), at the end of the 20th century, two companies – Adidas and Nike – were engaged at once. The direction has received significant financial injections for development due to the prospect of obtaining in the future a material with unique properties, in unlimited quantities and with a ridiculous (compared to natural materials) cost. Millions of dollars for research and development resulted in materials Teijin, Kanga-lite, adiLITE and adiLITE TWIN, the first two from Nike, the third and fourth from Adidas. All of them are designed, by the cavity, to displace natural materials in the future. Among the main advantages of synthetic leather are:

Extreme lightness (size 43 futsal shoes made with their use reach a weight of only 140 grams)
Durability (they are much more durable than natural ones)
Unpretentiousness (they do not require any maintenance and have excellent water-repellent properties)

But among the huge number of benefits offered from using futsal shoes, there are also pitfalls:

The cost of such high-tech materials as Kanga-lite and adiLITE TWIN today is comparable to genuine kangaroo leather and is not available to most amaters (with further introduction to the market, their cost will decrease).
The technology, with all the efforts, budgets and advertising support, is still “damp”, even taking into account the fact that third-generation materials are now being offered.

Leatherette is an artificial material that outwardly imitates natural leather (woven base and coating). Its properties are significantly inferior to natural materials, but the main advantage is low cost with acceptable quality. Leatherette is used exclusively in shoes of the budget segment. It is possible to recommend bumpers made using this material to novice players with a limited budget.

Synthetic materials — bumpers of them, are a reasonable alternative when buying in the lower and middle price range. These are mainly woven materials and nets with low weight and sufficient strength at an acceptable price.
