  • Lens coating. Most models have an anti-glare coating that provides better light transmission. The manufacturer indicates the types of coating on the packaging with binoculars. “Coated” – there is a single-layer anti-glare coating on some parts of the lenses. “Multi-Coated” means that several elements are covered with a multiple layer of the above shell. “Fully Coated” – there is a single-layer coating on all surfaces, and “Fully Multi–Coated” – a multi-layer coating is applied to all elements. The last marking option is the most optimal. In very bright light conditions, red or ruby multi-coatings can be used to reduce glare.
  • Features of prisms. These elements provide a correct image through binoculars. Roof-shaped prisms are quite popular. In binoculars, in which there are such elements, an eyepiece lens and a lens of the same diameter, smooth pipes. The device itself is compact in size. Binoculars equipped with Porro prisms are characterized by heterogeneous telescopes. The eyepiece is smaller than the lens in diameter. Such devices are easy to adapt to the distance between the eyes. But there are other differences in certain categories of prisms. For home use and entertainment, a device with a Porro BK-7 prism is suitable. But BAK-4 are prisms made of the best optical glass. They provide a clear image and are suitable for professional use.  
  • Features of collimation. This option allows you to adjust the binoculars mechanically and optically. A good device should be collimated, this simplifies its use.
  • The diameter of the lens of the lens. This parameter is indicated in the full name of the binoculars by the second number after the multiplicity (for example, 7 x50, where 7 is the multiplicity, and 50 is the diameter of the lens). The higher this indicator, the greater the lens aperture, and accordingly the image is brighter and the view is wider. The dimensions of the device directly depend on this parameter. The larger the diameter of the lenses, the larger and heavier the binoculars.
  • Multiplicity. This parameter means the maximum possible magnification of the object when considering it. This is a very important property, for which most people acquire binoculars.  For example, with a multiplicity of 10, you can consider an object when you increase it by 10 times. There is also a zoom – variable multiplicity. With such settings, you should be careful, because it is difficult to stabilize a large magnification, especially if we are considering the movement of an object.
  • The size of the exit pupil. This parameter is determined by the lens diameter divided by the multiplicity. The larger the diameter of the image in the lens, the easier it is to distinguish objects through binoculars. The device with 10×21 data has an exit pupil size of 10/21=2.1mm. For comfortable use of binoculars, the diameter of the pupil of the eye should be smaller than the size of the exit pupil. For long-term observation in poor lighting conditions, a device with a parameter of 5-7 mm is suitable. If you do not use binoculars for a long time in bright light, it is better to choose a product with an exit pupil size of 3 mm.
  • Field and angle of view. The second parameter means at what angle you see the image. The field of view is the width of the object’s image, which is measured in meters. If at a distance of 1 kilometer you see an object 100 meters wide in its entirety through binoculars, then the latter value is the field of view of the device. These parameters depend on the diameter and multiplicity of the lens of the lens.
  • The focus range. This is the distance at which you can adjust the binoculars to sharpen. There is an individual focusing of the eyepieces. It is quite easy to use, often found in waterproof devices. In order to focus the binoculars for your eyes, you need to attach the right eyepiece to the right eye, and the left to the left, and adjust each one in turn, closing your eyes.
