PyeongChang Olympic Stadium is one of the non-competing venues of PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
Located in the Pyeongchang Mountain Cluster, the venue will host the Opening Ceremony and the Closing Ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics.
The venue is located in Daegwallyeong-myeon, in the precinct of the Pyeongchang Olympic Plaza, about 2 km northeast of Alpensia Resort.
The construction of this pentagonal shaped stadium began in 2014 and the work got over in September 2017.
It is a temporary stadium which will be dismantled soon after the 2018 Winter Games get over.
The capacity of the venue is 35,000 Seats.
Adjacent to the stadium will be an Olympic exhibition hall, as well as traditional food markets, other attractions, which will remain as heritage facilities, and the medal plaza which will host medal ceremonies.
The same stadium will be used for Opening and Closing Ceremony of the 2018 Winter Paralympics.
